The Regional Training Institute of Florida
The Regional Training Institute of Florida is an education process that is dedicated to building the capacity of individuals of all ages to serve humanity and contribute to the spiritual and social development of their communities. Its educational framework is based on the internationally used curriculum of the Ruhi Institute, which guides participants through a sequence of courses designed to strengthen understanding of the Bahá’í teachings and translate them into meaningful action.
Across the region, this learning process unfolds primarily in small-group settings—whether in person or through distance education—and is facilitated by trained tutors, junior youth animators, and children’s class teachers. Together, participants study the Bahá’í writings, reflect on the needs of their local reality, and learn how to offer sustained, practical service for the transformation of neighborhoods.
The Universal House of Justice, the elected international governing body of the worldwide Bahá’í community, describes the spirit of this learning environment:.
“The main sequence of courses is organized so as to set the individual, whether Bahá’í or not, on a path being defined by the accumulating experience of the community… The very notion of a path is, itself, indicative of the nature and purpose of the courses, for a path invites participation, it beckons to new horizons, it demands effort and movement, it accommodates different paces and strides, it is structured and defined… And crucially, one walks the path in the company of others.”
